Coweta County Salvation Army emergency assistance programs.

The Salvation Army is one of the most well-known Christian organizations in Coweta County. If you need help, you can ask for free boxes of food, go to a store where everything is cheap, or get free Christmas presents or food. This aid is not just for people of one religion or background, it is for people of all religions and backgrounds. Other services are provided as well, but when it comes to financial assistance for things like energy bills or housing, this is much more limited.

The location in Newnam Georgia is part of the statewide network. The local center is responsible for giving out Project Share grants and running disaster relief programs with the Red Cross. Other families in the area can also apply for these services.

If you need financial assistance or counseling, the ministry is there to help, but you are not required to use their services. The counseling will instead focus on the case management needs. The Salvation Army case worker will help the client identify the cause of their hardship as well as come up with solutions for solving it.

The Coweta County Salvation Army provides several services, including but not limited to financial aid. These will provide “in-kind” goods, such as summer camp, social services, and/or case management. Other resources may also be classified as renewable or nonrenewable.

A food bank is a place where income qualified families can receive free groceries once a month or quarter. This means that a professional can help Newnam with other needs like food, utility assistance, or financial coaching. The Salvation Army provides help to veterans, single moms, and the elderly.

The financial aid for this project comes from grants from Project Share and the Coweta County Salvation Army. The Salvation Army is a donation program that relies on contributions from the community. This means that there is not a lot of money available. The Salvation Army will sometimes get money from the government or Untied Way.

This means that the funding is given only once and not on a continuous basis. Any financial aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and is often limited in amount. The expenses that need to be paid also need to be approved by a case manager, and the checks are written directly to the landlord or energy company.

The Coweta County Salvation Army can help with things like rent, utilities, air conditioning bills, summer fans, and prescription medications. There may be some one-time bills paid out for case management, such as if the family needs money for gas to get to a job interview. The Salvation Army will help those who are struggling, but the applicant must be able to pay for future costs on their own. Project Share requires applicants to be self-sufficient.
