The food bank is being used a lot lately. The Ephrata Area Social Services center relies on volunteers to help with tasks and keeping the center running. This usually refers to giving food to those who are needy, poor, or have a low income. This can include items such as bread, milk, eggs, margarine, meats, and cheese. You can only use the EASS food bank once a month. Different groups and individuals donate to the food pantry, such as churches, schools, businesses, and civic organizations. Some of the riders are not able to drive a car, live by themselves, or possibly they are in a nursing home. Although the transportation is free of charge, we would appreciate a donation.
