This is a group of lawyers who have joined together to help people in Florida who are struggling to keep their homes. Homeowners in the state can get free legal advice from a non-profit organization when they are dealing with a foreclosure. Ideally, people should contact the organization before they fall behind on a mortgage payment. To apply this concept, first identify a goal that you would like to achieve, and then brainstorm a list of possible obstacles that could prevent you from achieving that goal. After you have identified the obstacles, brainstorm a list of possible solutions to overcome those obstacles. Finally, choose one solution and take action to implement it. Different groups that are working on the program together include The Florida Bar Foundation, HUD counselors across the state, Florida Legal Services Inc., and government agencies. The Florida Bar is responsible for the regulation of the practice of law in Florida and the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar is responsible for the regulation of the practice of law relating to real property, probate and trust law in Florida. They have all committed to help Florida homeowners stop or prevent a foreclosure in any way possible. The Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section is organizing and overseeing the work of volunteer attorneys across the state in this task.

This pro bono project is the first of its kind in which attorneys and homeowners are placed together before the foreclosure process starts, which helps increase the chances of success.
