There are many charities in El Centro and Imperial County that help provide food for people who need it. They try to give clients the things they need to survive. There are programs that provide free groceries or other items, such as a piece of clothing for work or a Christmas meal.

There are too many families that are struggling with hunger, this includes senior citizens and children. If you are a resident and need help, you can go to one of the food pantries or soup kitchens in your area. Community Action Partnership of Imperial County can often help people in an emergency by referring them to other resources, such as CalFresh.

There are other services that are also running. Meals on Wheels provides food for seniors citizens and clothing closets provides work or school related clothing for those in need. One focus is on providing meals for children during summer and holiday breaks.

The Box of Basics is a program that provides low-cost food and groceries to people in need.
