The Miami Dade County Community Action Agency can help seniors and the disabled. The non-profit has different programs and resources for people with needs as well as care givers. The goal of the Care Planning Program is to help seniors who are isolated and alone. The program provides services and support to seniors who are 60 years of age and older. The program helps people who are in need, or who arerequested for help by their families or other agencies.

Some of the services available through this organization include in-home care for those who are unable to care for themselves, as well as crisis intervention for individuals who may be experiencing a difficult situation. In return for their work, they receive an hourly wage, information about resources, a small income, free transportation, daily hot meals, and help with paperwork. The Meals on Wheels program provides meals to people who may not be able to cook for themselves. Each week, Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services deliver meals to low-income, disabled, ill, and/or homebound residents of Miami-Dade County. They collaborate with local charities and churches in southern Florida. The delivery program provides its participants with a weekly supply of frozen meals, milk, fresh fruits, vegetables, groceries, and other food items.

The Haitian American Senior Center is a resource that is focused on helping Haitian American seniors. The Little Haiti Recreation and Cultural Center coordinates educational and recreational activities for elderly Haitian American residents in the Little Haiti area. The Miami Gardens Senior Focal Point Center offers help to seniors who are either living independently or are homebound. The government provides social services to its citizens. These services include things like welfare, healthcare, and education. The center may offer educational programs, free legal services, volunteer opportunities, and caregiver assistance, as well as accept applications for Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAEP).
