Tallahassee Urban League assistance programs.

The Tallahassee Urban League focuses on helping low income families, seniors, and the unemployed. They provide many services for those who are poor and in need, including housing counseling (for homeowners and tenants), employment programs, and emergency utility bill assistance. If the non-profit can’t help with a request, they may be able to provide referrals to other resources in Leon County.

They are a social service organization that does not make a profit. The organization has been helping Leon County’s most vulnerable citizens for many years by providing them with outreach services and support. They have helped with housing by fixing homes and also by preventing people from becoming homeless. They have given food and shelter to people in need. Other services offered include health promotion, counseling, crime prevention and intervention for youth, and job referrals.

Making sure people don’t go hungry is a priority. The Urban League works with different groups in the community to provide food and other support to people who need it. The program’s goal is to help clients who are struggling with hunger or some other type of emergency situation. Donations are given to those in need in the form of both money and food.

The Home Affordable Modification Program is a government-sponsored program that helps homeowners who are struggling to pay their mortgage and are at risk of foreclosure. The Leon County Circuit Court has partnered with the Florida Housing Development Authority to provide on-site housing counselors and attorneys who can help submit work-out packages to lenders.

Other services provided by HUD-approved agencies include help with mortgage default and rental assistance. The Tallahassee Urban League provides counseling for people who are behind on their payments or in foreclosure, as well as those who want to budget and plan for purchasing a home. There is also financial assistance available for making a down payment in very limited situations.

The HUD certified agency also helps people who are renting. If a person has an eviction or pay or quit notice from their landlord, the Urban League will work out a plan to pay the landlord and also try to stop the eviction from happening. There may be some agencies that can help with emergency rental payments.

The Housing Rehabilitation Program provides repairs to low-income seniors or the very low income. The repairs are free for low to moderate-income homeowners. In order to be eligible for this program, you must live in the city and your income must fall below a certain level.

The Urban League has programs to help with utility bills and referrals. This will allow qualifying families to pay a portion of a bill or utility deposits, with the rest to be paid later. In order to be eligible for this program, you must be a resident of Leon County or Tallahassee, and you must provide proof of income, a lease agreement, and picture identification.

The Financial Empowerment Center offers services to help improve your credit and reduce your debt. They can also offer advice on financial matters. The specialists help clients in Leon County, Florida, to make the most of their resources and increase their wealth. This is accomplished by teaching clients the skills and providing the tools they need to improve their situation. A minimum level of financial wellness will be established, and any necessary support services will be provided to clients.

The Victim/Witness Services program at TUL helps people who have been affected by crime. This helps people who have been victims of crime, as well as their families. Clients of the League can get tips in conducting a job search, resume review services, acquiring a job, maintaining employment, and adapting. The book also includes a chapter on writing resumes and another on filling out job applications This book includes chapters on how to prepare for a mock job interview, how to conduct an internet search for job leads, how to write a resume, and how to fill out a job application. This section provides advice on how to complete applications, request job referrals, and send applications electronically.

The Tallahassee Urban League Career Center helps people in Leon County find jobs by organizing programs and activities that connect employers with residents who are looking for work. The Career Center helps those who are unemployed or underemployed by providing services such as training, referrals, resume preparation, and work-readiness workshops. All of these services are provided by specialists.
