There are several organizations in Queensbury and Warren County New York that provide residents with assistance. These include local non-profits, charities and community action agencies.
North Country Ministry is an agency in Warrensburg that helps with the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program. This program is funded by the federal government and helps people in northern Warren County. The government may provide assistance with paying for rental security deposits, utility and heating bill payments/arrears, rent payment, rental arrears, utility deposits, moving/storage expenses and hotel/motel vouchers. The agency Also provides short term help with getting gas, food, clothing, and heating for your home. There are also baby clothes and a soup kitchen available.
Warren County Community Action is an organization that provides many services and assistance programs. The organization provides emergency rental, security, heating and utility bill assistance and case management. Other programs that may be available are school supplies, weatherization, furnace repairs and/or replacement. The Salvation Army in Glenn Falls offers a variety of assistance programs to those in need, including food, clothing, school supplies, and a soup kitchen. They also offer holiday meals and gifts, and occasionally have money to help with energy bills and rent. The center offers services to residents of both Warren County and Saratoga County. The Salvation Army may be able to provide services such as emergency rental assistance, landlord/tenant mediation, and even shelter or transitional housing. case managers work with people who have difficulty paying their rent.
