There are a lot of families in Fayetteville North Carolina who are struggling because of the economy, and they need help during the holidays, especially at Christmas. The Salvation Army of Fayetteville is a great place to go for help if you are struggling. They are always willing to help out in any way they can. There has been a sharp increase in the number of people and families who are struggling and need help. They are asking for assistance through Christmas assistance programs.

In past years, the agency has received as many as 1,500 applications for the program. The demand for the program varies each year. This is a drastic decrease in the number of people receiving help from the government in recent years. Most of the families who are applying have never received any type of public or financial assistance from any government program. They are struggling because they lost their job, gas prices are high, or they have other unexpected problems.

Christmas meals are typically provided by family, friends, or other loved ones. Families can receive a turkey, trimmings, vegetables, and all of the special food items that make the holidays special!

Although the Fayetteville, North Carolina area is usually moderate in temperature, coats or other warm winter clothing can be provided for children when it gets cold.

If you are a senior citizen or are homebound, you can receive free meals and companionship from volunteers in your community.

The Fayetteville Observer will be publishing lists of Angel Tree families starting after Thanksgiving for the public to adopt. Check your local newspaper for this list. If you can help out by donating an item or volunteering some time at a Red Kettle, your time and effort will make a difference.
