Financial support

In the short term, emergency assistance will help to improve the poverty conditions in Franklin, Vance, Warren and Granville Counties North Carolina. The Community Services Block Grant Program is administered by the state’s Department of Health and Human Services. The partnership between the non-profit and the government aims to reduce poverty among low-income people in the area.

The Single Family Rehabilitation Program provides funding for the rehabilitation of existing but deteriorated single-family homes, condos, and housing units occupied by low-income people. They need to be categorized as homeowners who are elderly or disabled. This fund will also offer an interest-free loan of up to $30,000 to those who are employed but cannot afford to pay their second mortgage due to a reduction in income, hours, or job.

The Family Self-Sufficiency program is another program offered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This program helps families become self-sufficient by providing them with resources and support. The program also offers financial assistance to families who are struggling to make ends meet. This will help clients find good jobs that make them economically independent and self-sufficient. The community action agency starts an FSS savings account for participating families. Employment, education, and job training

The Economic Self-Sufficiency Project provides employment assistance. This program helps people to get ready for employment by providing the skills and resources needed. The organization will help coordinate training and development for clients in order to help low income individuals seek employment. This will be done in counties such as Franklin or other regions. The job will allow them to pay their bills on time, support their families and in general be able to take care of their household needs.

The employment program has two different ways of approaching the problem. There are two main types of approaches to teaching: the group approach and the individualized, one on one approach. The two tactics both involve offering extensive case management services to improve the project’s effectiveness.

The Women’s Economic Equity Project and Boutique will work to help rural women become self-sufficient. The program helps people become financially independent by providing employment services, career coaching, and professional development training. This means giving women the chance to wear professional uniforms and work clothes, and to meet people who could help them progress in their careers.

The Training Assistance Partnership (TAP) Program from Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity is a program that helps people who are unemployed or underemployed. Some clients may want to change their careers or find full-time employment that is more fulfilling. The participants of the program receive individualized coaching from a counselor. This happens every week and is meant to help them achieve their professional goals. A coach helps people improve their job search skills and makes sure their resumes are up to date.

Vance-Granville Community College is partnering with the community action agency and the NC Department of Commerce to offer Employability & Soft Skills Training. The program helps participants develop the skills they need to find and keep a job. If you finish these training sessions, you can take the Work-Keys assessment and potentially get a Career Readiness Certificate that is recognized by many businesses. People who finish their career coaching plan successfully can get money from the program. If they need it, they will be given a free gas card that will cover the cost of transportation for up to ten weeks.

The Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity offers the Head Start program to help low income and struggling children get ready for school. Families who are able to enroll will be connected with services that will help them be successful in the long term, and eventually become self-sufficient.

The students will get free food that is nutritious and includes things like lunch, breakfast, and a snack in the afternoon. The Head Start program provides health services, including dental, medical, mental health, and nutrition programs, to meet the needs of enrolled students and pre-school children. The program is also for those who have special needs or disabilities.
