Get help for utility bills, free food, and other financial assistance
Washington Gorge Action Programs is the community action agency for both Skamania and Klickitat counties. The WGAP office provides emergency assistance for eligible families and individuals in the form of access to emergency food boxes, rental assistance, emergency energy and utility bill assistance, etc. The community action agency offers not only financial aid and support, but also referrals to other local non-profits, charities, and crisis intervention and emergency service programs.
WGAP is the best place to get food if you’re in the area. There are food banks in Klickitat and Skamania counties that provide food for free. Individuals and families who have low incomes are able to get a free Food Box once per month. The amount of food in a box will vary, but there is typically enough food to last for 3-12 meals, depending on the size of the family.
We also offer home repairs and maintenance. The Home Repair and Rehabilitation Program offered by the Washington Gorge Action Programs helps low-income homeowners pay for necessary repairs to make their homes safe and healthy.
This program can help people with their utility and heating bills in an emergency, as well as provide them with grants and other financial aid.
