There are resources available from Lakeshore CAP. The community action agency will provide direct financial assistance and access to other support services. After the applicant’s needs and goals have been identified, everything else will be done accordingly.
The programs are available in Manitowoc, Door, Sheboygan, and Kewaunee Counties. The non-profit may be able to help with things such as the housing crisis, lack of food, and employment services.
Assistance for food and nutrition
There are programs available to help those who are struggling with hunger in Wisconsin. This allows people who may not have a lot of money to still be able to afford food. This can also help prevent them from losing their homes by supplementing their limited cash resources. There are other government food programs for low-income people.
The government provides assistance to those in need in the form of EBT benefit cards, which can be used to purchase groceries and food. This means that more money becomes available. This money can be used to pay for things like rent, bills, and transportation, which are things that low-income households might struggle to pay for.

Lakeshore CAP’s Homebuyer Education Program helps low-income households who want to buy homes. In the first step of the buying process, applicants are required to participate in informational sessions. After that step is completed, the agency may be able to offer a loan with little to no interest for a down payment. The money can be used to pay for some of the fees associated with buying a property, or even the cost of buying the property itself.
If you’re having trouble coming up with the money for a down payment on a house, Lakeshore CAP’s Down Payment Assistance Program may be able to help. You must complete credit counseling, a homebuyer’s workshop, and financial literacy courses before you can get this assistance.
