Lubbock County offers a public program called General Assistance. The program is funded by the government and supported by the government. The resource is government-funded and administered by a non-profit family agency. The county provides temporary financial assistance to low-income and indigent families to help pay for basic living needs and expenses. The four main expenses that public assistance covers are rent, food, utilities, and burial/funeral costs.

The main goal of the program is to help the person living there and their family recover. If you need some help with money right now, you may be able to get some financial assistance while you also receive help from a caseworker and work towards being independent in the future. This can include job training, helping someone get a job, counseling them on their career, providing social services, and other assistance.

The amount of money given out by the Family Agency will be decided by the County Commissioners Court. This government organization is responsible for setting policies and requirements for the program.

Public assistance programs in Lubbock County

Payment may be provided for electric and gas bills. The county will only provide financial assistance for the current month and will not help with paying deposits for connecting or establishing service. The applicant is responsible for connecting and paying for all utility services. The family agency does not use any public funds to pay for telephone bills.

Lubbock County offers financial assistance to help residents with their rent. The government program may be able to help with payment of housing costs such as rent for the current month. The landlord and the county need to come to an agreement about the amount of money being offered by the office, and then the landlord needs to agree to cooperate with the program. The agency will not assist with providing funds for paying security deposits or will not pay any rent amounts that are already owed. If a tenant’s monthly rent includes utility services, they will receive additional amounts.

If you need food and cannot get to a grocery store, you can order food online or through a grocery delivery service. An applicant for an emergency grocery order cannot also be receiving food stamps from any federal or public assistance programs. The applicant must provide proof from the local Food Stamp office to show why they are not eligible for food stamps. People can only apply for food once every six months.

This is a program that helps with the cost of burial and funeral expenses. In order to be considered for burial or public assistance for funeral costs, the deceased must have passed away in Lubbock County Texas. This means that if a Lubbock County resident dies outside of the county, the county will not pay for the body to be transported back. If they are able to partner with another agency, they may still be able to help with transportation costs for family members.

There are several things that applicants need to be qualified for. Some of the requirements to apply for public assistance include having a minor child or a totally disabled adult in the household. The applicant must not have had any income for thirty days. In order to be the head of household, the person must be married or at least 18 years old. They must also have lived in the county for at least the last 30 days. Other conditions that may need to be met in order to receive financial assistance for basic needs indicated above.
