The Rent and Homeless Intervention Program will help people find new housing or keep their current housing. The rent program is a way for families to get help with rent payments if they are in a crisis. The program can help them keep a safe and suitable place to live. Counselors can provide assistance with issues such as debt, tenant-landlord issues, mortgages, and other areas.

The Low Income Energy Bill HEAP Assistance Program provides financial assistance to low-income New York and Herkimer residents who are struggling to pay their home energy bills. The program can help make homes more comfortable and safe, and prevent serious illness or injury. The Home Energy Assistance Program helps low to moderate income households that spend a lot of their household income on home energy bills. The Salvation Army also provides free items, including winter clothes, school supplies, hot meals, or Christmas toys or gift cards. A cheap store that sells used goods is also available. If you need help with basic needs like food or clothing, the Salvation Army Herkimer County can assist you.
