There is a hotline where you can get information on several assistance programs that are run by the non-profit Greensboro Housing Coalition. Most of what is available is focused on helping with housing needs. The agency will help the tenant or homeowner identify and implement solutions for employment and budgeting.

There are many reasons why someone may be homeless. If someone loses their job, they may have trouble paying their rent or mortgage. Some people may experience a medical emergency or divorce which could have an impact on them. The staff at the Housing Hotline will try to find a solution to those that qualify for their services, no matter what the cause is.

Referrals to homeowner programs in Guilford County

The hotline will only provide callers with resources. The organizations does not provide funding themselves.

An Emergency Home Repair service is available to help people who own their homes and who meet certain income thresholds. The property also needs essential repairs to make it safe and healthy.

The Guilford County in North Carolina gives top priority to low-income seniors. The other focus will be on helping people living with a disability by repairing homes to make them handicap accessible.

The staff that work for Housing Hotline can also help clients find sources of low cost financing for more major repairs. In addition to various community partnerships, there may be no interest loans available in the Greensboro community to pay for work on homes with no running water or waste systems. The counseling will specifically focus on resolving or preventing mortgage delinquency. There are several different ways to learn, including one-on-one instruction, group classes, and online courses. There are many ways to prevent foreclosure, including restructuring debt, seeking loan forbearance, establishing reinstatement plans, and managing household finances. There is also a focus on clients dealing with high priced, exploitative lending companies.

Housing Hotline partners offer help with topics like modifying a mortgage, foreclosure prevention, education and establishing mitigation strategies. If you are struggling to keep up with your mortgage payments and are at risk of losing your home, you can get help from a counselor who will negotiate with your lender on your behalf. This will also involve a discussion between the two parties involved in order to reach a compromise or solution.

Information from the Housing Hotline for tenants

The Housing Hotline has information on Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program administrators in Guilford County. The aim of this HUD resource is to help very low-income families that have an income source to find safe and affordable apartments or homes to rent in the private market. The rent will be paid for using a voucher or certificate that is given by the government. This service is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This means that there are usually more people wanting to join the class than there are spaces available, and that the enrollment period for joining the class is usually only open for a short time. However, when individuals and families are able to choose a home or apartment, they can base their decision on their own preferences, as long as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s safety requirements are met. If you are struggling as a tenant, you can also access counseling. I am available to teach people how to find and manage their rental units. The Greensboro Coalition offers courses on topics such as how government assistance programs for housing work, how to budget for rent payments, what clients and landlords’ rental rights are, and the eviction process. This service does not provide assistance in finding an apartment to live in, and clients are expected to find their own housing.

There is an emergency shelter and/or services that work with homeless Guilford County residents to keep them safe. Housing Hotline staff help people who are homeless find stable housing. Once someone is stable, the staff makes referrals to other services. They work with local organizations that can provide immediate assistance, such as housing or financial assistance.

Greensboro Housing Coalition partners offer Fair Housing counseling to tenants who may have experienced illegal evictions or unsafe housing conditions, in order to help them assess the validity of their complaint. This means that someone is making a recommendation to another agency that might be able to help, or that there is an organization that can provide free legal assistance. This is to help the tenant with filing a complaint under federal or state fair housing laws.

One of the main goals of this organization is to help people who are homeless get back on their feet and end the cycle of homelessness. The Workforce Training Office in Guilford County will teach eligible clients the necessary job skills and training to help them maintain steady employment. The key to paying rent or a mortgage on time is having a steady income and being good at budgeting.

These work skills include both certified occupational skills and also soft skills which help removal barriers to finding employment. The training is much more comprehensive and integrates cutting-edge technology with customized strategies to meet the needs and expectations of the business world.

The Greensboro Housing Coalition offers career training for residents of high-need areas. This training increases the likelihood of finding employment and earning a salary above the current minimum wage.
