The Union-Snyder Community Action Agency will run the program and hand out the money. Grants for utility and heating bills

This is a service that is available to people who meet the qualifications. The Union-Snyder community action agency provides assistance and grants to households that need help paying a utility bill, such as a heating, electric, or gas bill, or they can also help with fuel assistance and heating oil. They can also suggest other programs to people. The agency also works with PPL’s and UGI Penn Natural Gas Customer Assistance Programs to help low-income customers pay their utility bills. These special assistance programs offer those customers with limited income a reduced monthly payment on their energy bill that will be based on their household income, family size, and monthly electric usage. The federal government LIHEAP grant program provides assistance to low income households in Snyder County to help pay their heating bills. The Weatherization program helps eligible low income households in Snyder County to make their homes more energy efficient. The Weatherization and LIHEAP programs help low-income households in Snyder County, Pennsylvania pay for energy costs and improve energy efficiency in their homes.

The Customer Assistance Program provides customers with the opportunity to erase debt owed to utility companies if they have fallen behind in the past. This program can be used with credit counseling services, financial literacy classes, and other similar services. There are other ways to get help besides debt hardship programs. Money for car repairs and transportation assistance in Snyder County

The self-sufficiency Transportation Employment Program is a project of Union – Snyder CAA that helps people with transportation so they can get employed.
