The Action Center is a resource for residents of Jefferson County Colorado. The non-profit community action agency helps families with things they need like food and a place to live. Some people may be able to get help from emergency financial aid. The agency only provides services to residents who live in Jefferson County. You will need to make an appointment.

The staff at the agency can help you with things like finding a shelter, getting food, or paying your utility bills. They try to help people become independent and stable. When new clients come in, they can get free food, clothes, and other personal items. We can also help them connect with resources that can help them become self-sufficient.

Basic needs

The Action Center has a food pantry that gives free food to households up to six times a year. The food includes canned goods and groceries, and it lasts for up to five days. The main goal of the Jefferson County food pantry assistance program is to provide food to those in need.

The Action Center is a program that helps seniors get a food box once a month. This is a government-funded assistance program that provides food items such as juice, cereal, dry milk, cheese, and canned goods.

The community action agency is a site where food is distributed, which is partnered with the Food Bank of the Rockies. The agency is also a sponsor of programs like this. This means that before seniors and the elderly can take part in something, they need to first sign up and show that they are eligible to do so at the Action Center. The Clothing Bank has both new and used clothing for all ages, from infants to adults. The community is provided with resources. The amount of inventory changes depending on how many donations are received. You will need to speak to someone at the Action Center in order to get any household items that you need.

Help from Referrals

Referral means to send or direct someone for medical or mental health care, or for a job or other service. The Action Center is a place where Jefferson County residents can go to find resources.

Individuals from Jefferson County Colorado who need help with transportation may be able to get a free ride or bus tickets. This service can only be used up to eight times a year, so it is important to use it wisely. The bus tokens are provided for specific transportation needs such as employment, medical visits, social services, or school.

Emergency homeless shelters provide temporary housing and support services for qualified families, couples, children, and single adults. The maximum amount of time a client can stay in the program is 45 days. The goal of this stay is to help the individual become more self-sufficient by providing them with a Case Manager who can help them develop goals, get a job and save money. The goal of the program is for participants to find and maintain steady employment while living in the U.S. Clients who are working hard to achieve short-term and long-term goals, and who have a plan for transitioning to permanent housing, will be more likely to succeed in finding and keeping stable housing.

During the stay, each day, shelter clients will be able to receive two free meals, one for breakfast and one for dinner. They have the option to bring their own lunch with them when they leave. The shelter is closed during the day, and clients are expected to look for work or access other resources.

Back to school and holiday seasonal services are offered. The Action Center provides a variety of services to low-income families during different times of the year. The agency will help clients with limited budgets and income to make ends meet. This includes helping with bills, buying toys at Christmas or purchasing school supplies for their children.

Food pantries will offer free Thanksgiving food boxes the weekend before the holiday. The boxes may contain some or all of the following items. A family dinner including turkey, bread, and fixings. qualifying families will be given a certificate that can be used to purchase a ham or turkey from their local grocer.

The Santa Shop Toys is a place for parents and legal guardians to buy toys for their children who are newborn to 13 years old.
