Pro Action of Steuben and Yates assistance programs.

The programs and its case managers assist with job seeking, help people acquire and build job readiness skills, and provide other forms of employment support. The organization CHAMP gives out grants to people in need. This money is for people who need help and don’t qualify for other government assistance programs. The people who Pro Action wants to help must be referred to them by another social service agency. Careers not only learn job-specific skills, but also important soft skills such as attendance, initiative, reliability, proper dress and hygiene, and teamwork.

The Senior Employment Program helps low-income seniors find jobs. If they qualify, they will be placed into a paid job with a designated nonprofit or charity organization. So they are paid a salary, and may also receive some benefits while working. This program is run by community action agencies and helps seniors find employment.

Most participants will get paid. In general, people can earn up to $145 per week while gaining experience and learning new skills. This will make them more likely to get hired by businesses in the Finger Lakes region. The senior employment program provides services to residents of Yates, Steuben, Schuyler, Alleghany and Tioga Counties.

There is financial assistance available for people who need help finding a job. Support can help people by providing assistance and guidance during a time of change. The agency can help people with needs like gas, taxi fare, clothes or equipment for work, transportation, child care, and fees for licenses. The community action agency often works with non-profit credit counseling agencies in the Finger Lakes area to provide this service. It will help the low income improve their financial situation by saving money, buying homes, and improving their overall wellbeing. The curriculum is designed to help people become more financially literate and understand how to use banking products and services.

The Head Start Family Program is a program that provides free early childhood education to families. This program helps children from low income and struggling families to develop the skills they need to enter pre-school or kindergarten. The program is designed to improve the children’s skills and help them grow. This service can be accessed both from home and from a center.
